Shopping Spree! GSS!

I am so tired today. Physically. But I had a good workout today. Lots of walking. We went shopping!

Mum took half day leave today and I met her at Buona Vista and we went to Plaza Singapura first. Both of us were famished. At first mum said to go pastamania. But pastamania was so packed so we walked on and see what else PS had to offer. Finally, we decided on Ajisen Ramen. Mum ordered the teriyaki ramen and I had black pepper beef ramen. It was fantastic. We were so full and start to work it off.

PS didn't really have much shops for shopping. Ended I bought 2 tops, same design different colour from U2 for $39. One pink, one blue. Mum was supposed to take one, but she said she didn't like the shirt on her, so she told me to take two. After that we walked a little, then went to carrefour because mum is currently nuts about nuts. She wanted to buy nuts, so we walked there to see what was available.

After PS, mum said wanted to go Wisma Atria. Wisma is a much better place for shopping, although certain shops after discount, was still quite expensive. Mum bought quite a few clothes from there. At about 6pm when we thought we were done, we stepped into Iora, the sister shop of BEGA. We bought a lot of clothes there. 2 of us squeezed into 1 changing room to try our clothes. More efficient. I got another 2 more tops there. I guess my working clothes are more or less settled already, but then again, there's no limit to clothes. Haha. Mum paid for everything today.

Reached home quite late, approximately 9pm, just in time to catch my tv show. I was so hungry, I finished my dinner in a very short time. My poor dad and brother had to wait till we came home to eat because we were buying dinner. Hehe.

With pure determination today, I didn't get any skirt. Yeah! And no shoes. Haha. But overall, today was great. Talked to mum a lot, or rather mum talked to me a lot, about her work and stuff. Now I realized my mum is quite a water tank, similar to me. She was the one calling out for a drink more than me. Like mother, like daughter. Haha.

Great Singapore Sale rocks! I will not stop here. Muahahaha!

Going to relax now. WoW is down for mainteance.

Nothing much

Basically been playing WoW almost the whole day and am understanding the game more and more. I really like the animations and game concept and graphics. Feels so real. FWO loses out to WoW big time!

Anyway, will be going to Plaza Singapura tomorrow with mummy. Shopping! Can't wait.

Tour around Singapore Part 2

Stop 1: Jurong East
Work as usual. Today my 5 year old mischievious boy cried again. And the thing is, I didn't even scold him. I asked "did you practice?" and suddenly he burst out crying. As what my boss' mum says, "先下手为强". Oh well, after a while, he started laughing again. Today also, my P1 boy who is taking grade 2 exam, his mum called the music school and talked about her son not understanding the lesson. In this case, that boy came in initially feeling very inferior and not confident. But after teaching him for 2 years already, he is making tremedous improvement. I believe is his parents who are too overprotective. Parents nowadays are so protective that it makes a teacher loose the passion in teaching. We cannot fully use our full potential.

Stop 2: Lavender
Laogong drove today and so he asked me to meet him at Lavender where he can stop to pick me up. Waiting for about 10 minutes and he called. "Laopo meet me at bugis can?"

Stop 3: Bugis / Sim Lim Square
Laogong picked me up and we went to SLS to help his sis with her laptop. I also bought my mouse pad. It's really good and smooth and nice to use. Well, it had better be worth the price. It cost me $15, which normally I will never spend on a mousepad.

Stop 4: Tanjong Pagar
After spending time at SLS, I was hungry as I didn't have lunch. Laogong suggested going to Tanjong Pagar to have steamboat. Problem is, we didn't know how to get there. Well, we managed to go down there without taking any wrong road. Next problem, where in Tanjong Pagar is the restaurant? What is the name? So laogong drove around and we drove pass Li Nan Xing and Jessica Liu and they were filming. Haha, I was so excited. So anyway after a while we found the restaurant but it wasn't buffet style. So we decided not to.

Stop 5: Marina South
We discussed and thought of going Lot 1, but laogong saw the sign to Marina South and on the spur of the moment, we decided to go Marina South for dinner. In the end we went to the Roadside Hot Pot Restaurant. Bill came up to about $50 but in terms of service, it is much much better than Tian Tian Huo Guo. Will definitely go back there. Food is good too. Ate till really full.

Stop 6: Singapore Expo
Food fair at Singapore Expo. Laogong's sis was working there today and we went to fetch her. Laogong head up to ECP and I told him to exit when the sign showed to the Expo. He turned out to the exit and insisted that I was wrong. So he went back to ECP and we ended up at Changi Airport. Ok nevermind, we head back, this time on PIE. Ended up at Marine Parade. Haha, back up to PIE before we finally reached Expo. The food fair was a little disappointment to me because I expected it to be at a larger scale.

Stop 7: Whampoa Market
Went to fetch laogong's parents. Before finally sending me home.

What a day!

Yummy Yum Yum

I am so full and contented. Burp. Just finished my dinner. We had dempsey road Masala Chicken and mutton curry. Uncle Samy's Curry. Definitely not for those who can't take spicy food. It's much better than KFC. Eat with your fingers and lick the curry of them later.

This chicken has special memories for me. I remembered for my 'O' Levels Oral Exam, I had the topic on food. They asked me what my favourite food was and I talked about this place with the masala chicken. Coincidentally, one of my oral invigilators is an Indian. He was very keen to know the type of food they serve and such and I remember before I end my oral exam, he asked me where the restaurant was. Haha, I walked off the exam hall laughing really hard while seeing the rest of my friends freaking out while waiting for their turn or those who already finished their exam being freaked out.

The Great Singapore Sale is really turning me on. Yeah, I think its greater than sex. The accomplishment of buying things worth the money. The victory of squeezing through the crowd. The joy of spending money on worth items. Oh yeah baby, bring it on! Think I will be going shopping with mum coming tuesday, depending if she is taking half day leave. I declare that I will fully enjoy the GSS starting from tomorrow, at Bugis. Got to budget myself a little though. With this GSS, I will look out for more shoes and tops and bags. Feel like getting a cap, for a more relaxed and maybe sporty look.

Okie, going to play WoW already.

Gaming: WoW

Wow, it's been a long time since I sat in front of my computer and played a MMORPG. I guess the last time was when I was playing FWO hardcore, approximately 1 year ago. Now playing World of Warcraft, WoW. Surprisingly it is rather good, except that the graphics or animations sometimes make me feel a little giddy. Am only level 8 now with my little imp pet, Rapnum. Profession of herbalism and alchemy. So basically, I pick flowers and herbs and make medicines. Fun! Laogong came over just now for a while and taught me more about the game. At least now I guess he won't feel so bored. At least there's someone accompanying him to play this game.

My parents just came home from shopping. The Great Singapore Sale. Will go shopping this weekend with laogong I guess. Am so excited about GSS. Shopping anyone?

Recollections...

Went back to my primary school today and as most of you know already, it is my practicum school too. Was feeling so anxious this morning. Wondering whether my teachers are still around, how I would react, how our Cooperating Teachers (CTs) will feel towards us and such and boy I was in for lots of pleasant surprises.

So I met Wesley and Ridhwan at Bukit Batok Station Control and we went down together. Weather was super hot but anyway we reached early. When we entered the General Office, I saw my neighbour! I call her Auntie and she is one of the sweetest person around. Really friendly and calls everyone (except the men) she knows darling or sayang. Holds the lift door when we are loaded with lots of bags and such. So anyway she told me she's been helping with clerk and admin work there for about 9 years already. She helped us call our supervising coordinator, Mrs P Tan. At that time I was thinking "if it is the Mrs P Tan who I know, it must be my Primary 1 teacher."

We were brought to a meeting room and we met the other 2 teachers who will be teaching the languages. Lakshimi (don't know how to spell, haha) and Adrain. All seem like very nice and friendly people. Mrs P Tan came in! I asked her if she was teaching for a very long time and I told her she was my primary 1 teacher. Surprise! Happy. She was so amazed by it, she told every single teacher that I was her student before when she brought us around the staff office for orientation. Saw another of my favourite teachers, Ms Lim HL. She's still there and I still have the certificate she once made for me when I was her student. Saw a few other familiar faces too. It's all coming back to me now.

So anyway, I am given a Primary 3 Maths class, high ability class and Primary 5 English and Science class with mixed ability. I am so excited about it. I will definitely put in my effort to touch the students' hearts. Also, from briefings, I presume that the previous batch of trainees didn't do a good job and CTs were all feeling very skeptical about us. So, I'll do a good job and show them that trainees can be trusted too. I was the only one among the 5 trainees to get my time table. Looks like spaced out, but I think I want to do more observations if I get the chance and definitely want a feel of the CCA life there, mainly, choir.

It felt great, stepping back into my old school. Things have definitely changed around there. Rooms are very brightly decorated, corridoors painted and the atmosphere is just great. Maybe it means more to me especially since this is my primary school and it was here that I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. Walked home after the briefing was over and it started raining. Luckily, I got my umbrella. Took my about 15 minutes. Good exercise. Will be doing that almost everyday for 5 weeks, if it doesn't rain heavily. Good.

No meetings to attend until the first day of school, 26th June. So that means I can go Genting! Confirmed will be going with laogong and his family and don't know who else from June 19-21. Yeah! Looking forward to it.

Major Spring Cleaning

Guess what. I'm very hardworking yesterday and today. I cleared my 2 huge wardrobes yesterday, taking out all those old clothes, unwanted clothes, to make way for new clothes. Haha. And today, I cleared my drawers and table. Like what I told laogong, my room is freaking clean now that even I am afraid to enter my room. He gives me 2 days before it will return to the tornado zone. =.=" Sheesh. I shall prove him wrong. I am currently still determined to keep my room clean.

Tomorrow, if I have the time, I think I will clear my bookshelf and change my sofa cover. Gotta see how first because I have to go down to my primary school to meet the principal and CTs. Excited.

Ok, so I have decided to play WoW. Why? Boredom and looking at the graphics and animation, it's quite cute. Made a character there called Chickenpie. Don't ask me why, because I also don't know why that nick. Cute and I couldn't think of anything better. Wanted to ask laogong to name his character Currypuff but he came out with another not so cute nick. EvilShorty. So not cute! Haha. Is $25 a month worth? Shall test the game these few days first.

Tomorrow is Ascension day, a day of obligation. To catholics, the day God went to heaven. 40 days after Easter. Went to church today already.

Managed to catch the ending of Women of Times on channel 8 today and wow, this show is good. I like the storyline. Love. Hate. Family. Affairs. Happy. Sad. Anger. Jealous. Can't wait to watch tomorrow's episode. It's getting very exciting. If they ever put this show on vcd or dvd, I'll definitely buy it.

Back to gaming?

Should I go back to playing game? I am currently learning the concept of the game World of Warcraft. Quite complicated and I don't know how long I will really play this game? Am only learning it now just to pass my time. Once school starts, I doubt I have any time to play. Seems interesting. Maybe if I play this game, I can spend more time with laogong and we can talk about it too. Won't feel so left out.

Went down to BBDC today to top up my driving account. Booked my next driving test. 14th September, thursday, test time 10.15am. Hope this is a better slot. Until today, I still can't believe my luck on getting the same tester. But I woke up this morning, feel really bad and kept blaming myself for hitting the kerb. Felt so awful, I cried for a while. Told myself to forget it, since its over and go bathe, freshen up and start my day.

Ok, back to listening to laogong's lecture on playing WoW.

And the verdict is...

You Failed Again.

How am I feeling? I don't know to laugh or to cry. Why? Let me ask you this question. What is the probability of having the same tester at the first test and for the 2nd test when there are about 15 testers and testers are selected by balloting? What's the probability? Maybe 1%? And I have to be in that 1%! Only have one word for this: SUAY. When I knew that I got back the same tester, I was panicing. Worried. Yes, I may have the advantage of knowing his likes and dislikes, but knowing it makes me feel worse because the more I try not to make any mistakes he doesn't like, the more mistakes I make instead. He failed me again, for the same mistakes! Wide turning and sharp tuning (ironic huh), failure to check blind spot, lane change abrupt, blah blah blah. I kinda felt like he didn't even want to pass me at all. Well, I did make one mistake and that caused me severly a 10 points demerit. I striked the kerb during my directional change, something which I have never done before. Maybe it was the nerves.

As I was telling laogong on my way home, maybe I am just finding someone to put the blame on and that someone is definitely not myself. But thinking through, if I didn't strike the kerb, I could have passed. So maybe the fault lies in me. Too complacent. My moral is seriously demoralized now. Am going to book lots of revision lesson before my next test. I saw my instructor after my test and had a short talk with him. He was still very encouraging nonetheless and told me not to give up and we'll work out my mistakes during my revision. Nearly cried in front of him, was fighting back my tears. Another way I had to console myself is, I met another testee today and we had a short conversation before our tests. This is her 4th attempt and she failed again.

Maybe the other thing is, I have my pride. Maybe it is my attitude in me that I hate to fail with others. I seriously do not forgive myself if as compared to others I have to take more attempts to pass. Came home and faced the music with my dad. Felt even worse. Mum asked me how what went wrong and then she said nevermind, don't talk about it already. Am I really that bad?

Lucky laogong was there with me throughout. If not I will definitely be in a daze the whole day. At least I didn't cry, but well, as I am typing now, some tears are dropping. Everyone's telling me that I can, not to give up and I understand that these are well wishes, but still the amount of confidence I used to have in driving has been diminished low.

Well, after all that hoo-ha, spent the day with laogong. Came home first to take a rest. When I thought I got over the disappointment, laogong's mum called and asked how it went. Sad again. Anyway after that we went to woodlands central, to go to the bank, as I needed to transfer money so that I can top up my driving account and then we went shopping, for shoes. Bought 3 pairs. Each pair $9.90. Loved all the shoes. Cheered up a little. Yanxin (laogong's younger sis) called laogong and asked how it went. Sad again!

Picked up Yanling jie (laogong's elder sis) from work. Waited an hour in the car for her. Me and Yanxin got bitten by mosquitoes! Big and itchy. Then we had fish head steamboat with laogong's family. Interesting. First time having real fish head steamboat. Eating with them is so funny. Conversations go side by side, across and involve everyone. Then saw my shoes. So all of us went down to woodlands central again. Haha, nearly bought a 4th pair of shoe. Control. After that then laogong drove me home.

Gotta move on and pick up the pieces again and work hard. Next test date is in September. I guess I got to build up my confidence and not be complacent. Learn from my mistakes.

Jitters

My driving test is tomorrow!!!!!! Been having the jitters since yesterday. Butterflies, caterpillars, milliepedes and all those creepy creatures have been moving around in my tummy since yesterday. Now I'm all so worried and such, but I believe by tomorrow, when I sit in my test car for warm up I should have calmed down and I will definitely give my best shot. Need a clear mind and so as instructed by laogong, I have to be in bed by 10.30pm today. Hope all goes well. Pray for me.

No mood for any other things. Basically, my mind is only on my driving test tomorrow. I have to pass. I want to pass. I need to pass. Will just do a short update today and will update tomorrow again on whether it is good or bad news. Wishing myself all the best.

What makes a Good Teacher?

Have you ever wondered, I mean, really, really ever wondered, what makes a good teacher?

Is a teacher good if he/she scolds the students everytime?
Is a teacher good if he/she gives sweets or stickers to students everytime?
Is a teacher good if he/she closes one eye to everything?
Is a teacher good if he/she is able to produce results only?

There are so many ifs and possible scenarios. To me, what makes a good teacher is a balance of everything. Honestly speaking, I know I'm not a good teacher. But I know I am not that bad either, at least my students product results and I am able to communicate in a position of friends to some of them. What has got me thinking about this is because I helped another teacher do relief today for piano class and her student was simply atrocious. Not that the student is rebellious or what, but it's the attitude that is instilled in the girl. Her student was simply "heck care". When I was teaching her, I had to walk through the student step by step from scratch. What's worse is, the girl is taking her Grade 5 piano exam in 2 months time and at the rate she is going, give her one more year and she still won't be ready. Something must be done. I was quite tempted to tell my boss to transfer her to me, but then again, I am not ready to take on additional responsibilities, but yet I can't stand to see this poor girl being stagnant. What should I do?

Her teacher has been away for 1 month, and this poor student has been facing different relief teachers for the past few weeks. As a teacher, once you commit to a student, it takes a lot of effort and personally I feel, maybe one week off is alright, but not too long. The student will lose out a lot. Even if a teacher is going off for a period of time, it is always good to leave a note for the relief teacher as to what you need to cover as that the relief teacher can cover and teach the student new things. Oh well, maybe it is not her fault, maybe is the student's fault if she is just simply bo chap. I have a handful of students like that too and I know how it feels.

Being a teacher, I do not strive for students to love me. But at the end of the day, all I want the students to feel is that, they can do it if they put in the effort and walk off feeling that they have learnt something. They can hate me, I can be fierce, I punish but ultimately, its for their own good. I do not have any experience teaching in a primary school yet so it is hard to say but I believe that every student is teachable, its a matter of finding the solution and method. Another major factor is passion. Without passion and the love of teaching, it will be hard to motivate students. Determination. Perservance. Sincerity.

My ambition, my dream is finally coming true. Looking back at my life since I was young, I remembered making my brother sit down in front of the whiteboard we used to have and I pretended to be the teacher and he will sit down and listen. Haha. Those were the days. Now, no more pretence. I hope all goes well in my teaching career.

Driving Lesson Today

Driving 2nd revision lesson today. The last one before my test on Monday. Well, confidence level is slightly higher and I have to remember not to make stupid mistakes. But my worry is still the crank course as I tend to hit the kerb sometimes still. Things that I must remember are:

  • DO NOT slide back on circuit slope
  • Signal, not too early not too late
  • Crank course... SLOW SPEED CONTROL
  • Parallel Parking... SLOW and steady..
  • Vertical Parking...centralize car
  • S course... slow slow slow
  • Main Road... JUDGEMENT is the key!
  • Accelerate when changing lane
  • Stay close to speed limit
  • Look ahead

Today's instructor is the same as yesterday's. Today he talked to me about his ex steads again. Notice, he said steads. Told me he has a fear for marriage too. Talked to me about his mum and his interests in racing, both motorbike and car. Then as he was talking and talking and talking, I hit the kerb when exiting from crank course. Our conversation went like this:
Instructor: Ooi! Slow down. Concentrate. See la, talk too much.
Me: *stunned*
Instructor: Oh ya, you didn't talk. I was talking and you were listening. Ok nvm, come do correction.
Me: Haha, ya la, ok I do correction now.
Funny right? When we were out on the road, he kept scolding other drivers who were tailgating me (I wasn't too slow!), who overtook other cars on double white lines, who parked their cars near zebra crossing and such. He also told me stories of testers and testees and funny things that can happen during test and such. He also told me that as compared to other female drivers I'm quite matured and steady at the wheel and from the way I talk. Time pass quickly. Well, not forgetting, he also encourage me a lot. But still, I can't help it to not feel hopeful. I know my standard is there, but if the tester wants to fail me, what can I do? But I know that I want to pass and I'll do my best. Stupid mistakes are to be avoided at all costs!

Ok, so how's this new new look? The one I put up yesterday, I decided it wasn't really me. This suits me better but somehow I still feel that it isn't really me yet. The colours are me, but the picture is not. The forever friends bear shows a rather playful and sweet character, not really me. I'm more of a dreamy, romance kind of person. I would want hearts or maybe flowers instead. Will continue to keep a lookout. Spent the whole afternoon changing font colours, font, size and stuff like that. I'm pleased with it. And thanks to laogong for helping me to figure out how to make chinese readable in this blog.

Chatted a while with a long time jie I knew from irc ages ago. Xin Ling Jie's in Australia now, graduating this semester and will be back soon. Hope to be able to meet up with jie. To xl jie and Lydia who are in Australia now about to having their exams, Jia You!!

New Look

How's my new look for the blog? Looks simple? Girl? Feminine? Spent quite some times to sure through blogskins to find something I think I like. Somehow, this isn't what I really like yet. Shall continue to look around. Removed the videos and games. You can drop me comments in my tagboard or here. Looking for feedback so that I can beautify my blog more.

Went for my driving today. Was super tired and blur. But it was fun. Today, my favourite instructor took me. He's funny. Talked to me about his ex stead and cracked a lot of silly jokes. At least my 100 minutes was fun. He kept encouraging me saying that I will definitely pass this time and he will bet on it. Mistakes that I told him tester brought out, he corrected for me and said I am ready. Hmm. I don't know. Though he was very encouraging, I still don't dare to hope too much, in case I fail again, disappointment is greater. But I really do hope to pass. I want to.

I am so close to dozing off now. Took a flu tablet just now and it is taking its effect on me already. Been having runny nose the whole day. Yucks. Got another revision lesson tomorrow at 9.50am too. Looks lke if I don't go to bed soon, I'll be tired and blur for the lesson tomorrow.

Shall continue to explore how to beautify my blog. This skin is so not me. Too black. I'm a pink person. Haha. Good night!

KTV!

Oh yeah! Went to KTV again. Managed to find someone to go with me. Hamida and Ophelia. Hamida aka Twinnie is my secondary school best friend. We did and went anywhere together and well we are about the same size, so people called us twins. I just knew Ophelia last year at the start of NIE. Ophelia is Hamida's friend from poly and also going to be a HE teacher. So after my piano lesson tomorrow, met them at Clementi for lunch and then we went to partyworld.

Wow. Amazing. Ophelia can sing till so damn high, and I can sing until so low, yeah, like a guy. Enjoy ourselves. Tried a drink which I haven't tried before - Shirley Temple. Pretty cool. And now I think because of KTV last sunday and today, I am coming down with a sore throat. But that won't stop me from singing at home. Shall have my own personal KTV session, in front of my computer, train up my songs and then wow everyone again when I go KTV. Been banned from KTV till next month by my laogong. Haha.

Met laogong after we sang finish and had japanese food. Yum. Walked around clementi for a while before going to westmall to walk somemore. Overall, today is quite a good day. Feeling sleepy now. Yawn.

Got driving revision lesson tomorror and friday. 9.50am. Wonder if I can wake up at 8am to prepare for class. My 2nd attempt on my driving test is on coming monday 8.25am. I hope I can pass this time round. Currently, confidence level is at bare minimum. Zero. Kosong. Ling. Hopefully after class tomorrow, I will feel refreshed and confidence level up again. Wonder how to face my instructor tomorrow. Sheesh.

Crazy over another song today.

Please pray for him...

Right after midnight and after I put down the phone with laogong, probably around 12.10am this morning, I heard a loud screeching and then... BANG! Having lived in this house for 20+ years, I always cringe whenever I hear loud screeching because most of the time, it ends up as an accident. However, this time was slightly different. Usually the accidents that occur here is at the t-junction. This time, it was about 50m before the junction. The whole car was up on the centre divider or kerb, whichever you call it. The left side of the car was badly dented by the tree. Within minutes, passerbys and concerned neighbours (or busybodies) gathered by the road side and some tried to help the driver out. After about 10 minutes, the ambulance came. The driver was unfortunately still stuck. A few seconds later, SCDF personel came too. Out came the saw. Heard the grinding from my window. Took them quite some time to take the driver out. Finally, after about 20 minutes, they managed to rescue him. Traffic police came and escorted the ambulance to the hospital and another stayed behind to analyze the site.

In my opinion, it should be rather serious because if traffic police needed to escort the ambulance, means it should be rather bad. Plus, he was trapped for quite some time, wonder what injuries he sustained. Throughout the whole process, I was by my window watching everything. Felt so sad and worried for the driver. I wanted to go downstairs for a better view but no one at home wanted to accompany me. My dad said he had to put his dentures before he will go down and found it too troublesome so he said he didn't want. My brother was angry with my dad over some disagreement on calling the ambulance and the road name of where the accident occurred, and was too pissed to go down with me. My brother over reacted and was rather rude to my dad. I nearly wanted to slap him myself. Since it was so late, how would I dare to go downstairs by myself?

Based on the analysis as discussed by my dad and I, we figured that the driver was probably drunk and speeding. Drunk because we presumed he had judgement error. Why judgement error? Well because based on the direction of the car on the kerb, he probably wanted to do a right turn. However, he must have turned too early due to misjudgement. The only way the whole car can get up the kerb must have been because he was speeding. Even with him jamming the breaks, the speed was enough to get the car up the kerb. On the other hand, he could be fallen asleep while driving. But what's the probability?

Some may this, if this is the case, the guy doesn't deserve any sympathy. To me, it is still a life. Whether he is wrong a not, I believe he'll learn from this incident. Maybe my dad's and my speculation could be wrong too. I'll just give him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't drink driving and continue to pray for him and wish him well.

After the scene finally cleared, I wanted to go to bed, but I was so worried and I started shaking. Don't know why. So I stayed online and talked to Lydia. It's been a long time since we really chatted and I felt happy to chat with her again. I remember the times during our secondary school days where we really had heart to heart talks. After finally having a good chat with her, I went to bed. Didn't take too long to sleep this time.

The rest of the day just zoomed pass. Doing housework, watching tv, reading book, attempted playing theme hospital. Normal stuff. Suddenly I felt that doing housework is quite fun. Maybe I should help out in washing the toilet next. Hmm.

Am currently crazy over the song by 曹格 - 世界唯一的你. Lyrics below.

Dim Sum Buffet & Book Review

Yum yum yum. What else can I say? Dim Sum. Though not as good as HongKong's but good enough here. Lunch was terrific. And as commented by Gillian in the previous post, I forgot to attach the clasp to Chris' bracelet. So now her bracelet is back with me, again, and I'll attach the clasp for her. Haha. So blur, must have eaten too many sotongs in my life. It was so comical today. No one brought a camera. Well, for one, I was too lazy to bring mine because I carried a small pouch, which doesn't have much space for me to squeeze another solid in. Secondly, I thought Chris and Gillian will bring. To our amazement, we thought each other would bring it too. Plan backfired. No one brought. Haha.

Did quite a bit of housework today, maybe because I'm feeling guilty from eating too many buffets within a week. Need to exercise it off. Can't afford to put on weight. I want to wear sexy clothes out. Wear mini skirts. Determination's what I need. Argh.

Am so sleepy. I think I am too used to sleeping really late last few nights, that now I can't sleep till 2/3am and I keep tossing and turning in bed. About the storybook that I have read, Slightly Settled, here's the review.

Wendy Markham - Slightly Settled
Written in a very informal way. Not the normal kind of romance novels structure that you read. This story is written in kinda like a diary formal. Every thought is being penned down. Certain thoughts are rather comical and reading this book is very light hearted. Tracey, used to be fat and was in love with Will. Forunately or unforunately, Will broke her heart, and she turned to her shrink who gave her what she calls "happy pills" and helped her lose weight too. She starts wearing sexy clothes and a red sexy dress to the office party. She meets her boss' roommate, Jack and ends up sleeping with him and falling in love with him. Her best friend, whom she thought she loved started to woo her too. Ultimately, she ends up with Jack. Her sidekick friends display a very realistic world out there. The cynics, the busybodies, and the homosexual. I'll rate this book 3.5 out of 5 stars. Grab it while you can!

I am a VIP

I am a VIP.... of PartyWorld. Yeah! Congratulate me. Ok, forget it, I bet all of you must be going (-.-") now. But well, it is worth celebrating. What does getting VIP card for PartyWorld mean to me? I means I will blacklist kbox now and go to PartyWorld. Kbox doesn't deserve me going at all after how they spoilt my birthday. Went with laogong and his elder sister this morning. We sang so many songs and I learnt so many songs! Had fun, but as it was early, our voice all not warmed up, we screech. Walked around Causeway Point and Civic Centre a little while, went to the pasam malam nearby and finally got my handphone cover changed before heading home. Oh ya, my VIP card apparently is the later design. I quite like it.

Ok, I am not here to gross you out. But that's my foot, left one to be exact. Observe that red scratch across. Here's what happened and I am very pissed about it. After service ended, I was moving out from my seat and as usual, I genuflected after leaving. When I got up, the lady in the seat in front of me also came out. Stepped and slides across my foot. She was in heels. At that point the pain was so over powering that I had to fight back my tears. Just continued to walk on because I know my parents will surely scold me. True enough, after we were in the car, when my dad and brother went to the toilet, my mum scolded me. She said that I was careless and I don't observe what's happening around me. I showed her the "wound" and she said nothing. Just told me to go home and wash it. When we came home after having dinner, I showed my dad. He scolded me too. I was so pissed! Come on, here I am injured, instead of getting concern I get crap?

The question now is, was I really careless? My opinion, NO. That lady was talking to her friend and of course I wouldn't expect her to exit from her seat yet. How was I to know she would suddenly turn around and step out. If you blame me for not looking, then what about her? All she said was oops, sorry. She didn't know how bad it hurts. Just showered not too long ago and I had to bear with the pain when water touched it. Used alcohol swaps to disinfect the wound already.

I am always getting scolded for being careless. It's not as if I want to. It just happens. Who likes getting injured all the time? Sigh. From young, any injury on me is treated with scoldings on why so careless, rather than concern. Grrr.

Anyway we ended up going Church of the Holy Cross today as my brother is meeting us there. Ok, so I mentioned yesterday that his girlfriend was going. Well, last minute change of plans or whatever, she didn't go. I had to give up going out with laogong today just so as to suit to their schedule only for them to change. I believe that they think everyone has to serve them. Irritating. If not for Mother's day being today, I would have made noise. My dad and I had originally planned a lunch for my mum, but because of my brother, we had to cancel the whole thing.

On a brighter note, tomorrow will be going to Dragon Gate Restaurant to celebrate Chris' Birthday. Here's the bracelet I made for her. Nice?

Travelling.. around Singapore

Yeah! Saturday today and I don't have to work and I am having my holidays. Know what it means? Double enjoyment! So, I met laogong late afternoon at Woodlands. Rushed down because he told me to meet at 4.45pm and when I saw the message it was 4.20pm. Not changed and I still have to take MRT down. So pushed to 5pm. Was a little late still.

Met laogong and his friend, Drac. Drac drove today, with his car. Pretty cool. 2 doors, 4 sitter. Quite troublesome to get in and out, but like what laogong says, its a sports car! Haha. So anyway, when I reached there, I got the impression we were going to Sakura at Toa Payoh. Only to find out, that we were going Sakura at Science Centre. I was stunned. You see, my house to woodlands takes about 20-30minutes, by train. My house to Science Centre takes 10 minutes by bus. Nevermind, was at woodlands already, so we travelled back... in the direction of my house.

When we reached there, we were told that they were fully booked. Right. Where now? We called Toa Payoh Sakura and they said they were fully booked too. We realized the reason. Mother's Day! Decided to call Tian Tian Huo Guo to check if they had available places. Earliest is only about 8pm. But all of us were so hungry we couldn't wait till then and we were looking for buffet. So laogong took the wheel, and drove around, while I brainstormed for places. He drove down to jurong west, nearly to Tuas checkpoint.

Managed to think of a place near Haw Par Villa, only to find out, that it wasn't buffet. Drac took the wheel again and drove around Pasir Panjang. Finally we decided to go Dragon Gate Restaurant for Dim Sum buffet. At that point in time, I was thinking, wow "so cock"! You see, I'm going there on Monday with Chris, Faith and Gillian to celebrate Chris's birthday. But out of places to go, I decided it's alright, I can eat it again on Monday.

After we found how to go to the place, through some really illegal cut throughs (not our fauth, we didn't want to drive to the PSA control), we realized that the restaurant had a wedding dinner there today. Luckily, they set aside another part of their restaurant for normal dining. Nice food. Ate lots of soft shell crab, black pepper crab, deep fried prawns with oat and other stuff. Though the price is a little steep, but there's a lot of crab, prawns and other things served, you'll find the price is worth it after all. Drac's stomach nearly exploded. Laogong and I were bloated. Walked around HarbourFront Shopping Centre a while, but most shops were already closed or closing.

We went to Mount Faber after that. Walked a while to digest our food. Quite odd though. The people you see there are mainly couples. And here we are, 3 of us walking around. Laogong changed the saying from two's a party, three's a crowd to three's a party. Left at about 10.45pm, because I know if I am home any later, my parents will get worried. Drac drove us back, but due to my wrong direction, he went to Keppel Road instead of to AYE and then we ended up at Keppel and had to do a U-turn back.

By the time I am finally home, it's 11.15pm. Parents were a little worried. Felt so guilty. Anyway, will be going to PartyWorld KTV tomorrow at Civic Centre. Meeting laogong and his elder sis there at 11am. There's supposed to be special weekend promotion from 11am-2pm and it is very cheap. Yeah! Finally! KTV!!!!! Can't wait for tomorrow. Going to church tomorrow at St. Mary of the Angels at 5.30pm. Brother's bringing his girlfriend. Hmmm. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that she's really sincere, rather than pleasing my parents. But first, they gotta convince me by acting like Catholics! Not that they have to be holy, but just through their daily simple actions. Dinner tomorrow probably at the coffeeshop near my house, zhe char.

Oh ya! I also did something "very cock" today. I wore the black skirt today that laogong bought. I was so enthusiastic in wearing it and so in a rush to go out, I forgot to cut out the price tag. And I only realized it when I was going to bathe (as I had to remove my skirt, duh!) I was thinking, luckily the tag is inside, if not how many people are gonna stare at me today. Alright, I admit, I'm a blur block! And in my defense I would say, 我傻的可爱.

Paya Lebar This Fashion Rocks!

Ok, so I've managed to get laogong out with me today. He drove today and we went to This Fashion @ Paya Lebar, Singapore Post building. The range of clothes, the area, the prices are simply amazing! I was awed by it and we spent more than 3 hours in there. Basically, clothes for myself. Wow. I underestimated that place. I said to spend more than 2 hours there is more than enough. Laogong said 3 hours. Yeah, we spent more than 2 hours nearly 3.

Objective: To buy clothes (obviously, duh!) specifically, tops. Budget: $100.

At the end of the shopping trip: 4 skirts, 1 jacket. Slightly lesser than $100

Objective wasn't met.

Ok so I managed to keep within budget. But at the rate I was testing and picking this and that, I thought I had to increase my budget to $150. Luckily laogong was there to stop me. Seriously, their skirts are superb! Nice designs. But tops unfortunately do not really suit me. That's why I ended up buying a jacket, to wear like a cardigan. Laogong paid for one skirt because he liked me in that skirt. Here's the pictures of what I bought today.

Laogong paid for this skirt below:

Other 3 chosen skirts for work:

Busted nearly a quarter of my piano pay. I should put a stop to getting skirts. Help! I just can't resist. But no regrets, I love these skirts. Too bad I could only get 1 short skirt, as it isn't too practical. Can't wear for my practicum, only when I go out with laogong, that's like... once a week.

Next up: Shoes. Shop: Pedal Works. Budget: $50. Wondering where am I going to find money. Hehe.

Shocker

I am in a total state of shock. American Idol 5. Chris Daughtry was eliminated today. Not only I am shocked. Even the 3 judges were shocked. Sigh. The 2 people I support already knocked out, watching American Idol is getting more and more meaningless. Well, maybe I shall support Taylor now. But I must admit, I didn't like him initially. However, he is showing a lot of improvement as the show continues on. Thumbs up for that.

Spent the afternoon going through websites on how to handle Theme Hospital. And, I managed to pass that stage. I am so happy. However, the next stage, I failed in a matter of a few minutes. Ouch. Well, nevermind, one step at a time. Preserve and keep trying.

Tomorrow is Vesak Day, public holiday. I am dying to go out. Wonder if I can find anyone to spend time with me tomorrow. I've not been seriously out shopping, walking or that sort for 2 weeks already. It's killing me. Here's a list of what I want to get, but may not necessary get it. P/s: It is a want, not a need.
1. CD - Cao Ge, Zhou Hua Jian, Classical Relaxing Music
2. Shoes - Comfortable pair for teaching and walking long distances and formal
3. Clothes - Whoever said I have enough of them. Haha.
4. Watch - Elegant design
5. Waist pouch - Black colour. With lots of compartments

Hoping to get my hp cover changed back to the original. Managed to remove the back cover, which took brute force to pull it apart but now I don't have the screw to unscrew the cover. Because I am scared that if I put back the back cover and it is going to require brute force again, I've decided not to put back the back cover. So now, I am using my hp, back coverless. Looks pretty cool. Maybe this can be new fashion. Hmmm. Will probably have to bring my hp to those hp show to have my cover changed.

Reading a new book now. Wendy Markham - Slightly Settled. Very interesting story format. Will give the review later if the book is worth reading.

Pissed

Below is a list of things why I am pissed today.

1. Mum came home from work and scolded me and said I am slacking too much and not helping around the house. Excuse me, I washed all their morning dishes, moped the floor and such when they are not around. To them, only seeing is believing.

2. Dad called my mobile phone when I was at home. Don't know for what reason. Asking me to go downstairs to help him carry things up. Nevermind my brother was at home and he had to ask me. I reached down a few minutes later and he scolded me for being late. Fine. My effort not being appreciated.

3. Why do they treat my brother like a spoilt brat? Knowing that he is at home, why always ask me to carry those superly heavy stuff up?

Sometimes I wonder, why bother? Why bother to help them do things and only get scolded in return? Why bother to work so hard in my music and studies and then only for them to boast to others? Why?

What's the point of blogging? I realized in blogging it is very restrained. You only mention the good things and not bad of people around you. Comments and opinions have to be sieved carefully before posting. Worried that friends will turn against you. Worried that the government will come after you. Worried that you will lose your job. Then why blog? I don't know. I'm just following the trend.

Computer games

Been playing Theme Hospital nearly the whole day. Managed to clear one of the stages that I couldn't clear before. So happy. Now, the next stage after that is so difficult. Think will continue tomorrow. Need to read the instructions on how to cure epidemics.

Should I perm my hair? Contemplating. Any opinions? Money issue.

Should I go back to play FungWan Online. Contemplating. Any opinions?

My new founded 成语: 乱来乱去.

I'm fat. Look at the picture. Ignore my hair, it is super messy.
IMG_0307
Well, there is a hidden purpose behind this picture. I took it so that I can take a photo of the skirt. The skirt is nice right? Went for laogong's mum's birthday dinner today, at lotus garden restaurant. Chinese Thai dinner buffet. Adult is only $15.00+. Cheap and really good. Guilty. Ate so much. How to lose weight? Mum says that this skirt makes me look very fat. Sigh and I thought I looked nice in this skirt.

Went to school today to meet my NIE supervisor for my practicum. Well, she seems like a very nice and understanding lady. I hope all goes well with her, as she'll also be the one grading me for my practicum, apart from the Cooperating Teachers in my school. Briefed us, exchanged contacts and such. Am posted to Keming with Ridhwan and Wesley. Only got to know the both of them today. It's feels better now knowing who else is attached to Keming. So that we can double check any information and such.

For those who understand mandarin, I'm proud to announce a new 成语. 乱来乱去. Know what it means? Here's a clue. 乱乱来. Well, basically, 乱来乱去 is to show that 乱乱来 is not enough to describe the messiness. Why? Because, 乱乱来 is only messy in one direction, which is 来 (meaning come). BUT, 乱来乱去 is messy in 2 directions, 来 and 去 (meaning come and go). And there you get it. My newly founded 成语, 乱来乱去. It's alright, you may dispense with all the oooos and ahhhs on how amazed you are at my intelligence. I'm modest.

Theme Hospital

I believe that many should have heard of the game Theme Hospital. Yup, you got it right. It is that old school game. Guess what. I am now playing that game again. Just to pass my time. Cure patients. Do research. Earn money. Or kill patients. Up to you. Haha.

Sudden craving for chocolate today. Bought a box of DARS bitter chocolate just now before going to work. I love bitter chocolate. Milk chocolate on the other hand is a little too sweet and heaty for me. Though my mum says that bitter chocolate is worse.

Spent money again. Bought some lingerie from E2 as they were having sale. I like those that I bought because it is definitely sexy, although I am gonna wear it inside and no one can see. Haha, but well, it is that feeling. Got one pink and one black. $6.90 for one only! Definitely gives you the support, no regrets. Haha. Ok, maybe I should have kept it to myself. One thing I still cannot accept is wearing g-strings, though it would be better to wear especially when I wear those very short skirts and it shows my unsightly VPL. Maybe when I lose weight, then I'll consider again. Right now, the thought of the "line" sticking into my butt isn't my cup of tea. Enough about that.

Gotta go to school tomorrow to meet my NIE supervisor at 10am. Evening going for dinner for laogong's mum's birthday celebration. Do not know the place yet. Will probably wear one of my new skirts as laogong loves it a lot. He says I look slimer in that skirt. Hehe. Yeah.

Forgive me

Forgive me for 2 things.

1. For not updating my blog yesterday, because I was too busy watching Da Chang Jin and I am happy to say that, I have finally finished watching it.
2. For those to who read my blog and have my msn and you messaged me, sorry for not replying the last few days as I was watching my DVD on full screen mode.

Da Chang Jin is a really addictive show. You will just want to keep watching and wanting to know how things will turn out. I joked saying that watching Da Chang Jin will shorten my lifespan by 10 years because my heart beats really fast when unexpected events happen, which is almost throughout the show. However, I really really love the ending. Yes, a happy and lovely ending, like most dramas. But somehow, the romance in this show really touches my heart. Don't know how many pieces of tissue paper I used to dry my tears. These few nights before I sleep, I kept thinking of the romance that happened. It is really really so touching. Those who watched finished the show will know.

Dreams. I do have many, especially about those diabetic (overdose of sugar) romance. A strong hunky guy will sweep me off my feet. Roses. Bungalows. Fireplace. Candlelights. Stary moonlit night. You get the picture. Well, I am not complaining a single bit. Yes, although laogong is a far cry from what I dream of those "perfect" romances, but I must repeat, all these are just dreams. Dreams that I believe I am entitled to keep. But the world is the reality. I need someone I can depend on. Someone who will always be there for me. There is no such thing as a perfect romance. Just look at me, who am I to complain? I should be pleased with what I have. Anyway, laogong I know you will be reading this, so, to clear it up, it's not that you are no good or can't give me what I know? These are just my dreams, in my own sweet little world, that I have built up since young. You know I can't do without you, and we have come so far already. Hope you won't be upset about this.

Today is also polling day. General elections. Don't mind me saying, but I really hate politics. Because of politics, it can break a country. Because of politics it can break friendships. Because of politics, it can break a family. Because of politics it can cause war. Just look at the story of Da Chang Jin. Why do all these happen? Your guess is as good as mine. Look at this GE. Look at the incident of Gomez. Fine, he made a mistake, and now is a big hoo-ha. Can't they just forgive and forget? Sue here, sue there. It's in the headlines almost everyday. They aren't tired of it, I am. Shan't say more. Risky. Don't want to get myself in deep shit.

Since I've finished watching my show, I guess I should be pretty free the next few days. But, I have no money! I want my pay! Burnt my finger just now with the hot pot as I was removing the cover to the pot of soup. I thought since they had dinner like 1 hour ago, the cover would have cooled down too. And so, I just lifted the cover and burnt my finger. Applied the burn gel already but it is still painful. Yes, I know I am gonna get nagged by laogong again. Prepared for it already. Am talking to my seconday school friend, Lydia now. Been some time since we last chatted. So till tomorrow's entry, see ya and good night!

Da Chang Jin

The show Da Chang Jin is so sad!!!! How can someone go through so much suffering and still hang in there? Been watching it non-stop. That's like my life these few days. Watch the whole day apart from pausing in between to watch some TV programs. Even my update of my blog also decrease. Haha. Will promise to update more once I have finished with this show, most probably tomorrow. Am at 50+ episode already.

Emotional again

Ok. I shall admit something. I cried watching Da Chang Jin. The story is so sad and pitiful. I am at episode 37 now. Sad. I'm weird, you may say. But if I watch a show and stop at the part where is very sad, the rest of the time I will be frustrated. So, I am watching and watching now and going to watch till the end before I will be happy again. Total 70 episodes. Half way there already. Finally managed to get the DVD to work on my computer after installing a new software, PowerDVD. Ok back to the show!

Lazing Around

Guess what I have been doing the whole day.

--Slacking

Which method of slacking?

--Watching TV

How long?

--Morning 10am to 12noon, 1pm to 10pm.

Why?

--Restless. It's that time of the month again. Started yesterday, which means, today is a torture for me. You know why.

Noticed the 1 hour gap when I was not watching TV? Was at Westmall. Ran out of very thick absorbing tissue (hehe, you know what it is) so had to go buy more. And went to the library to borrow books again. I bet I will be going to the library again, soon, at the rate I am slacking at home, just watching tv or reading. Stomach cramps happen so often. This is the worse I've experienced ever since the first time it came. Wonder why.

Was watching 让爱自由 and it is finally the last episode next week. Hope Qianshan ends up with Qi (Roy Chiu). Haha, sorry, personal hatred against Pierre Png. No matter what show he acts I don't like him. Was watching the new show too on channel 8, women of times, starring Fann Wong, Edmund Chen, Huang Wen Yong, Aileen, etc. Pretty cool. Lots of good actors in this show, worth watching.

I was wondering this yesterday. What would happen if I used century egg instead of chicken egg to make my egg mayonaise sandwich. Any volunteer to be my guinea pig?

Labour Day!

1st May. Labour Day. What's the meaning of it? Does it mean women who are pregnant goes into labour? Is it a day to do labourous work? Or is it just a rest day from too much labour? I think, I've gone through of all that today. Well, not literally, I go into labour from being pregnant. I am not pregnant. But stomach isn't feeling good today. Labourous work. Sort of. Helping out to prepare lunch today. Washing. Not very hard manual labour, but hey, I helped! Hehe. And well, I slacked too. I think I am blabbering.

Finished making the 2 bracelets today, each with slightly variating design. Finger's aching and eyes turning a little watery. But the satisfaction is there, because I know it isn't easy and mum agreed. Improved my timing. Instead of doing one bracelet for 3 hours now, I take approximately 1 hour.

Tried doing dreamweaver to design again. There are still some loopholes here and there for me to figure out, like how to transfer all the data over. At least some parts are working now. Bit by bit. I believe I can do it. Determination!

Am going to stay home for the next 2 weeks, with no shopping. Left with only a 2 digit figure in my current bank account. Lunch for the next 2 weeks will be on instant noodles, canned food, leftover food, vegetables (if i go down to the market in the morning). Well, at least it is healthier, since I am cooking for myself. Can guage the amount of oil and fats and what not.

Ok, so I mentioned Gillian is supposed to come over today. Well she didn't. Not long after I updated my blog, she smsed to say she can't make it. So that's why I spent the day, slacking, rotting, watching da chang jin and so on.

Friends. Many kinds. Sometimes I wonder. Who's for real? Ok I admit that I don't have any primary school friends that I still keep in contact, well except for 1 whom I sometimes bump to in NTU. That's because I always wanted to be teacher's pet. Haha. Those were the days. Secondary school and polytechnic days, still have a handful that I am in contact with. Sad to say, I wonder whether some people in these group are my real friends. It is sad really. I remember I used to give up a lot, especially financially. Up till today, somehow I feel that the only reason I am still X's friend is because of money. I've smarten up and will no longer pay for that friend anymore, after all X is now earning money. But of cos, I have a couple of close buddies still. They know who they are. =)

Ok, I shall end here today to rot. Wonder how to spend the time till laogong calls. Sayonara.
