Good luck laogong!

My dearest and one and only laogong has got 4 job interviews tomorrow. This post is specially for him telling him...

Good luck!
I'll be supporting you all the way!

muackz~!

DCE 200!!

The car's at the mechanics and will only be ready tomorrow. Although no one really scold me about it, I still feel bad, and still do have some kind of phobia going to multi storey carparks. My brother's boasting about how good his instructor says he is and that he commented that my brother is a talented driver. He's getting proud! Evil me says, hope he bangs the car one day and learns from it. Mum only commented probably because he is a guy and that's why the different treatment of his instructor to him and my instructor to me, and he started saying that she's throwing wet blanket and doesn't believe he is talented. Evil me is laughing again. My brother has decided to break off with that girl. I'm happy. End of story.

Been struggling to do my DCE 200 assignment. We have to do a grammar focused lesson based on a text type and then a writing lesson out from it. Just doing the rationale is a torture. I have so many things to write but I can't phrase it and link it into the proper headings. I have my lesson concept already it's just this theorectical portion. Probably because I went to find Jason yesterday and realized that I did badly for my first assignment. Sigh sigh. He told me I didn't fail (2 in my class failed, but they passed that 2 anyway) but I needed to improve in this assignment if I want my overall marks to go up. And I do. So I'm hoping to do up a magnificent piece of work. Discussed with him my idea and he was very supportive of it.

Guess that's all for today.

Total damage cost: $630

Dad's home from China and went to send the car for assessment today. The result?
Total damage on wallet for dad's car: Approximately $630. Change the bumper and headlights and spray over the scratches. I feel so guilty. He is not asking me to pay, but it is a costly mistake and I think I need to make it up to him.

Dad bought lots of sports wear for me and I think mum's jealous that I am losing weight. She looked at those shorts he bought and kept saying that I wouldn't be able to get into it and that if I can't, it is hers. Well, I could wear all and she kept saying that it was very tight and not nice. But I felt that it was just right. I seriously think mum's jealous or can't believe the fact that she's putting on weight (not that it is bad).

Yesterday's DCM lesson was a mixture of boredom and fun. We had a Maths trail. Paired up with Gillian to go around the school to take measurement of things. It was a good experience to know how a maths trail feels like. Well, we completed it within 15 minutes and she gave us about an hour to do. Made use of the extra time to go shopping at the NIE bazaar and bought this necklace which I simply couldn't resist. I have this sudden craze for chunky necklaces. I told dad to get some for me from China, but he bought back pearls. Looks like I will have to pull laogong to Chinatown in november (after I get my pay) to buy some of those big beads to make those chunky necklaces and maybe make some accessories as a christmas gift to some friends.

The necklace I bought. $12

Someone save me!! I see so many course mates finishing their DCS ICT project but I have yet to take my photographs. I need my cast and the camera is not charged yet! Dad just came home yesterday with the camera, that explains why I am not able to do my project yet. Guess will have to rush through it on Sunday after coming home from the gym. This is the first time I am doing last minute work for a project. I usually finish my work at least 3 days in advance. Panicing. At least my report's done, and my general slide outline is done too. Just need the photos and insert it in.

Am thinking of revamping my blog again. Guess will do so after I have done up my ICT assignment. Lots of time after that except for my DLK test coming up on the 10th november. But my tutor's quite good and I feel more confident for this module. I think this time, I will try making my own skin. Hopefully. That's what I always say.

DCS Field Trip

It's been a rather good day, I would say. There is rain, finally and the sky's clear and the air is fresh. Ah! What a joy! Puts people in a good mood. Hope it remains this way, I mean, without the haze.

DCS lesson today was quite fun. We went on a field trip around the school, looking at plants, analyzing the characteristics of them. Interesting. Took a couple of photos today while doing the field trip. Attached some pictures of the plants I took today. Thanks to Mdm Noraini's explanations, I could understand more about plants. Though her lessons are usually much longer than the other classes, at least, it's all worth at the end. She's a good tutor.

Flower 1: Vanda Miss Joaqium. Needs no introduction. Singapore's flower.
DSC00059

Fern: Dragonscale. This fern is unique because when it is a baby plant, it is in a small circular form. However, as it matures, it becomes longer and you can find spores on it!
DSC00060

Diseased plant. If I don't recall wrongly, it is from the coral tree. Pity. But it does look horrible. Gives me the goosebumps.

Met mum and brother at westmall for dinner. We went to swensons. I hate the half BBQ chicken. Filling and very sinful. We shared a bowl of ice-cream after that. Sinful too. Looks like I have to work out more this week.

Dad's finally coming home tomorrow. Oh yeah! Will be driving to the airport to fetch daddy, along with mummy and brother. I guess that's the end of the 2 week usage to dad's car. Oh well. Wonder how he will react and what will he say when he finally sees the damage of his car tomorrow.

Finally, another good news today is that my insurance is approved. At least another thing is settled and I can not worry about this already. Guess mum's feeling relieved too.

After this week, there will not be any more lessons to attend, except on Friday. You can say it is the unofficial holidays. Yippie! Oh and last week, when I got back my DLK Assignment, I received an A- for it. Good or no good, well, to me, is better than I expected, but seems that many is scoring around that range too. Nothing to really be proud of anyway.

More earrings!!

Thank you laogong for buying earrings for me. Of course, not forgetting Yanxin, who helped to choose it too. You guys are the best! My taste is not that difficult to understand. Pink, pink and more pink! Girly, girly and more girly.

My favourite pair. Like the little furry ball. Cute!
DSC00058

The unique pair. Who has ever thought of bringing in some form of knitting into earrings?
DSC00057

The sweet and elegant pair. (And it is pink too!)
DSC00055

The sophisticated pair. Simple and yet classy.
DSC00054

I love the earrings so much!!

Washed dad's car with laogong this morning, actually, not much work, just a simple wipe, and it rained in the afternoon! I think it must be some kind of negative karma between water and my dad's car because even when dad washes his car, it will rain. Grrrr. Effort gone.

And yes, I have lost more weight. Laogong says that it is visible. Hmmm. Guess so but still long way more to go. However, my weight doesn't appear to be so. I think I am building muscles too. Who cares about weight, as long as I can fit into the dress that I am aiming for.

Went to VivoCity just now. I won't disagree that it is huge but as I was telling laogong, the shopping centre is big in terms of lengthwise, but it is has only 2 floors. If there were like 5 floors, maybe it is about the same. Nevertheless, I would think it is a good shopping place for rich tai-tais. Guess I will not return anytime soon. It is so crowded and many shops are still under going renovation.

Body's aching a little. Or rather is sore. I guess I did not so sufficient warming up exercise before starting on my treadmill today. Hope my knee feels better soon.

Bracelet/Necklace

Went to chinatown yesterday with mum to get some beads/pearl to make some jewellery. I also managed to get find my earring stand and so now, I can rearrange my earrings and it is easier to find my pair. Did this bracelet cum necklace this morning. As a bracelet, it will go 2 rounds around my wrist. As a necklace, it will be kinda like a choker. Used good quality pearls and so it really is heavy.

Overslept again

Just wasted $10 on cab fare today and all because I woke up late... AGAIN. Why do I keep oversleeping these few days? Thought of driving to school, but I recalled what happened last Sunday when I overslept and drove to work. I was scared that I am not in the right frame of mind to drive plus I had to go for my piano class after school. I don't want to step into that multi storey carpark again. Even if I do have to, I won't be the one behind the wheel. Hope that I don't over sleep again. Hard to since lesson tomorrow is at 2.30pm. I couldn't possibly sleep till that late right?

The weekend is coming and yeah I do not have to work this weekend. Saturday's public holiday because of Deepavali and I would like to take this chance to wish all Hindu friends a very happy Deepavali.

I came across this article in the TODAY newspapers a few days ago saying that not all indians celebrate Deepavali because not all indians are hindus. How true. Race does not equal to religion. I guess that's the problem with people. Always taking things for granted.

Was rather sacrastic with mozzie today in class. He was blocking my view of the whiteboard while trying to copy some things down and I said "You didn't eat glass to grow up." Who cares. I know it was harsh but couldn't he stand at another place to copy instead of right in the centre of the class. I know I am not the only one being blocked.

Should I drive to school tomorrow? Quite tempted to. Hmmmm.

Confidence low..

I didn't update yesterday because I was totally not in the mood. What happened? I banged my dad's car at the multi storey carpark. I was so scared I would get screwed by my parents, but luckily, they didn't. The car is basically ok, except for my left headlights and left side of my bumper. Here's the picture, unfortunately not very well taken, cos my camera has no flash. I can still drive the car and everything is in working order, apart from that. It left me so shaken yesterday and now I have a little phobia of driving. Confidence level has dropped to an all time low. Lucky for laogong, if not I would not know what to do. Well as a result of laogong having to rush down, he cut himself with his shaver. Poor thing. But makes me know that I mean a lot to him too.

DSC00052

Bought my sports shoe at Queensway Shopping Centre yesterday for $90, after a 30% discount on all New Balance shoes. It's good. Wore it today at the gym. The support and the feel is really good. I think it is money well spent. Bought myself a shoe bag too for $17. As laogong say, I think I do look a little more pro than him now. I look sporty! Maybe that's a new look for me. Sigh, but SPGG shower room is now undergoing renovation and I can't bathe there. Sucks! It will only be done by the end of the month. So have to bear my stinky clothes all the way home before I can bathe. Need to tone up my flabby arm and abdomen. Until now, I don't really see much weight difference but I guess I do feel different as in, I am more refreshed and not always looking so lethargic and restless.

Anyway, Sultanah, here's what I owe you. The photograph of the DCM200 project. To others out there, this chart was for our group presentation last Thursday and it received good feedback. It was on statistics and we had to write out 5 questions for the class. Our group's name is Monosodium Glutamate aka msg, which stands for, marie, sultanah, gillian. Inventive huh. I thought of it. Haha, yeah I know, lame. But at least it was light hearted and some did laugh at the cuteness of the name.

DSC00049

The other day at the airport, I didnt know my furball dropped off from my slipper and my feet looked so stupid. Look at my slipper. Well, and that is my brother's feet.

DSC00045

My arm's aching down, as I did some arm toning exercises just now. Ah!

What a week!

It's been an awesome week! So many things happening this week. One week of blog to catch up here. Finally got my power supply box changed yesterday night with laogong's help and I can finally not worry about my motherboard being burnt. Anyway apparently my power supply box really want burnt when laogong took it out. We could smell the burnt-ness of it.

I just have to complain about that superly irritating mozzie. That idiot and his kiasu-ism has put the whole class to an inconvience. Because of him, we cannot change out class timing to an earlier time slot. Nevermind about that, he was not even apologetic, as if the whole class is at fault for wanting to shift time slot. Imagine 20+ people have to give way to him. Thick skin! If only I could spray some bygon on him. Grrrrrrrrrr.

I guess the highlight of this week is driving for me. Dad's in China and so I have the full access to the car. Drove to school, to church, to gym, to everywhere! Even drove by myself already, considering I have just got my licence for 1 month. Dad seems keen for me to drive to the airport to fetch him. Well, will see how, depending on what mum says. Anyway she also said that I have shown improvement in my driving. As Dad says, it's practice. Just talked to him and he was very encouraging about it.

One week of dieting and gym sessions. Results? No. Except only 1 kg drop. A little, no, VERY demoralizing. How how how? But I would say, I feel healthier and more refreshed. Need to get a new sports shoe because that idiotic shoe of mine gave me a very bad blister until it bled. Went to westmall and IMM to find but couldn't find one that I really like. Ok, it's the problem of budget. Expenses are so high this month. I am left with like $350 or maybe a little lesser. And I still need to top up petrol approx $50 and if my shoe is going to cost me about $100, that leaves me with $200 for my food and medical bills and handphone bills. How to survive? Urgh and my WoW subscription. Haiz. Money money money.

Help! I need financial assisstance.

Driving to work tomorrow and then to Queensway Shopping Centre to get my sports shoe and then to gym. Need to work out. So guilty. I ate finish all my rice during dinner. Must work extra hard tomorrow to get those unwanted fats off.

Basically to cut the story short, my computer's making a lot of noise. So I am switching my computer off unless I have to do my project. Till it gets better, then I'll update.

Action packed!

It's been an action packed day and surprisingly, I feel refreshed! Lucky thing there's no haze today too.

Work was cute today because of my colleage May Wan. She smsed me yesterday to wear either a black or white pants or skirt today as she bought a t-shirt for me. So this was what happened this morning. Auntie (boss's mother) was there earliest to open the studio. I noticed her t-shirt and thought that it was rather cute. It's from giordano, the disney series. But I didn't say anything. A while later, auntie gave me a giordano plastic bag, saying that this t-shirt is from May Wan. I took the t-shirt out and it was the same t-shirt as auntie was wearing. She said May Wan is so crazy over that t-shirt, she insisted that we all have to wear the same t-shirt today. So I went to change and luckily, the shirt fits. A while later, my boss aka my teacher, came in, wearing that t-shirt too! Haha, it was so cute! 3 big buffalos in disney t-shirt. At 11am, May Wan came in, in that t-shirt too. So now we had 4 big buffalos. The kids were all laughing but it was fun. May Wan, I think age 40+ can be so cute at time. Apparently, she saw my boss and auntie wearing a similar t-shirt of the disney series on Tuesday and was so crazy over that idea that she hunted for the t-shirt at so many giordano outlets but couldn't find it. Finally, my boss and auntie had to bring May Wan to IMM to get it. $6 only. So May Wan suggested to get for me too and wear it all today. She said, we should do this more often. Haha, I wonder what other t-shirts they are going to get. Hmm. But at least, it goes to show that my working relationship with my colleagues are good that they are starting to treat me as one of them.

My boss gave me this ugly looking thing today. She said that is eaten during this period of time. I tried one. Tastes a little like roasted chestnut (gao-lak). Interesting. Can't remember the name, but I think when translated, it means cow horns. Resembles.

DSC00043

After work, laogong and I went to SPGG for gym workout. 35 minutes on the cycling machine, and 35 minutes on the treadmill but at walking pace. Wow. And guess what, according to the machine, the calories burnt in total, is not even equivalent to the amount of calories in an egg. Nevertheless, there is the satisfaction there. Muscles are a little aching but it's worth it. I feel fresh and very awake. Guess my next gym session will be on Friday. Or maybe I may go down myself on Thursday or maybe even Tuesday!

Went to soak myself in the jacuzzi after that. Didn't stay too long because I was by myself (male and female have seperate jacuzzi because it is in the shower area). The guild house is supposed to offer exclusive rites to members. But, there was this party going on and the shower room, which has the jacuzzi inside, was so noisy! Nevermind about that, kids were jumping in and out of the water when the sign says in huge bold prints "CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 15 ARE NOT PERMITTED TO USE THE JACUZZI, SAUNA AND STEAM ROOM". What the hell are those mothers doing? Ok, this aside. So many kids and they were taking their own sweet time to shower. Grr I had to wait so long for the shower. Felt so much like complaining to the staff to shoo them off. It's not that guests of members cannot use. They can and I understand because I bring my friends too. But please follow the house rules and think of other people. Idiots!

Ok, so after the bath, I still had energy left. We went to play bowling. Each game costs just $2.50, so why not? We played 2 games each. I won the first, but during the 2nd game, I started to feel the strain in my arm already and so played horribly. It was still fun, nonetheless. Went to clementi for japanese food for dinner and a walk at Big Bookshop before heading home.

Fruitful day.

PSI Reading: 150

Damn! The haze is so suffocating. My room smells, the floor feels dusty, you can hardly see more than 100m away. PSI reading reached a peak of 150 today. The weather isn't any better. It is so hot too. People, do take precaution. Stay indoors.

Guess outdoor exercise is a no-no for now. Yippie =X but I shall not slack. Gave in to my temptation of bitter gourd beef just now and quarter a bowl of cheng teng. Must work it off! Going to the gym tomorrow with laogong. My whole body's aching. I couldn't walk down the stairs without any pain. Walking up was a breeze though. Really out of shape. It's time to get in shape! Gheez, I only ran one round my estate yesterday and I am pain all over. Imagine what if I ran 2 or 3 rounds. I think I will be bed ridden. Haha. But then again, it is a good sign. It shows that I have been working out. With constant work out, I bet all these pain will be reduced and of cos to a sexier me. Well, I hope I do achieve that. I have been saying about wanting to lose weight eon years ago. Haha.

My student nearly drove me nuts again today. Yes, is that RGPS super attitude problem girl. Here's what happened.

Me: What is a key-note? (a key note is the first note in the scale/key named)
Student: A note.
Me: Yes I know you know it is a note. But what makes it so special?
Student: It is a note with a key.
Me: Ahhh (sacrastically) So a sunflower is a flower with a sun? A meatball is meat with a ball in it.
Student: (laughs)
Me: I see. So Ms Yap here is the stupid one, and you are the clever one.
Student: (grins)
Me: Right. And I will be the clown, the idiotic one, who doesn't know anything.
Student: (grins wider)
Me: Tell you what, since you are so clever, and I am the stupid one, why not you teach me?
Student (grinning from ear to ear)

What the hell is she trying to prove? I don't know and I don't care anymore. My boss has decided to change her to another teacher. I am celebrating. Well, although this girl's brother is not any better in terms on his work, at least he doesn't have attitude problem. He knows when I mean business and when I am being sacrastic. Instead, when I scold, he shows signs of remorse, well, for that moment. His sister is really a gone case. Total spoilt rotten. And her parents do not seem to bother to control her. Good luck to the next teacher.

First time tried my multi storey carpark. Wow, I can really see the connection with the S-course and crank-course. It was quite a good try and well, I can say loud and clear that I am building up my confidence. Even my skeptical 2nd aunt, who was initially scared to take the car said my driving's good. Yes! Well, parking's still a tinsy weensy bitsy bit of a problem. But I believe time and experience matters. Guess the next parking I should try is parallel parking. Well, I did parallel parking just now. *gasp* Alright, I cheated. The carpark was empty and I just well, zoomed into my lot. Haha. I certainly do enjoy driving. To my good friends, Ridhwan, Vivien and Ceresah who are taking their driving test in a few months time, all the best! We will soon own the road. Or at least in our dreams. Hehehe.

SP Musical is Fabulous!

Just reached home not too long ago from the SP Musical - Superstar. I really have to give my 5 stars rating to it. I is really fantastic. The superstar in me feels so envious of the cast. For those who know me, should know I like performing. Nevertheless, it was a good well done, good plot, funny and they really know how to make the show appeal to the audience. Even the President loved the show so much, he refused to leave. Haha. Why didn't they have a musical while I was still part of SP? Argh. Oh, and Kelly Poon came to perform too. 1 song. I tell you, the cast sang better than her. Thousand million times better. Too bad it is only a 2 night show. If not I'll go again. Yeah. Really a major event. CNA came down to film, and lots of media coverage.

The haze is worsening. The visibility is so bad that my dad didn't allow me to drive today. The moment you open a door or window, you smell the smoke. Mum's feeling a little suffocated and lethargic and I am having headache the whole day because of it. I think the PSI should be about 100 today. The last reported highest I heard was 80. But it seemed to have worsen.

Another assignment down. DLK200! Phew, but coming up soon, in a month's time is the DLK test. Seems so scary. I can't seem to fully understand main and subordinate clauses. Looks like I have to dig out my David Crystal's book on Rediscover Grammar. Due next is my DCS on Monday. Done already, just left to print it out.

I finally went jogging this morning. Not a very long distance, but at least I managed to keep jogging for one round around my estate. Tried doing sit ups at the fitness corner. The bench was so hard my bone felt so pain and in the end, I did 10 and went home. Upon reaching home, I felt like vomitting. Wonder why. Maybe I really am not in shape, or wrong breathing technique or maybe it really is the haze.

Hope the haze clears off soon. Everyone's falling ill.

Hazy hazy day

Slowly the assignments are due. Just exchanged DCS and DLK assignments with Sultanah this morning to vet through each others work. It was useful. At least we picked out each other's mistakes and misconceptions. Sul, we should do this next time too.

Did 20 sit ups and 10 jumping jacks today. Was panting already. Air quality is bad. Alright, an excuse for not exercising. I wanted to go jogging, but well, with the haze, I don't want to inhale pollutants. 60% of what I say is true, 40% is an excuse. Haha. But well, it definitely is one of the worst haze since 1998 or 1997. Mum's feeling the difficulty to breathe too. I hope it gets better.

There is nothing really to update today. Oh ya, before I forget, the CP shrimp wanton is good! Bought a box today and tried it for lunch. I will highly recommend it. Maybe I will go get somemore.

Ah! I need motivation to lose weight. I have craving for pizza hut. Pizza. Cheese. O-la-la. Why is it whenever I am on a diet, I get all these craving? I cannot succumb to temptation. *chants to myself.. think of your birthday and your dress and your nice clothes* I can do it!

Still feeling troubled

Haiz. Feeling so troubled. Worried about my insurance thing. Wonder if my parents will start nagging at me again. Guess I will only feel better once my insurance is approved. It's all my fault for defaulting my follow up. But I've made my appointments in november already. Hopefully that helps.

Sometimes I wonder. Why do my parents call me and ask me what I want for dinner when they have in mind already what they want to get for me? Just now, they called and asked me what I want for dinner and that they are at west coast hawker centre. I told them I wanted mee hoon goreng and then they scolded me for taking so much flour and carbo food. And that they will buy for my herbal soup instead. Not the first time. I would have felt better if they just didn't ask and bought back for me. At least I won't feel so pissy. It's not what I have to eat that makes me angry but rather how they are treating me. Gotta bear with it. That's what I've been doing from day 1. Deep down I know they care, but sometimes it's the way and method. It is so demeaning. Urgh!!!

Anyway today's lesson for DED200 was quite cool. The topic was on passion to teach and we build "bridges" made out of straw. Here's the picture. Guess which colour bridge was my group's? We made the bridge with the blue colour straws! The esplanade look alike. Well, supposed to anyway. Haha.
DSC00041

Last week, when I was at suki sushi, I ordered the miso soup and I saw something very very interesting that I couldn't help but take a picture of it.
DSC00038
Look at that two things on my chopstick. Know what it is? It's a mushroom! It's so tiny and small that even my dear laogong cannot tell. Amazing huh. I thought that it was so cute that I couldn't bear to eat it. But thinking, well, it's already cooked and in the miso soup. I can't possibly bring it home and put it on display. Can't let it go to waste and so it went to my waist! Being a small tiny weeny mushroom in miso soup, you can say, the mushroom doesn't really taste too. I still like my black shitake mushroom and golden mushroom best! In case you all don't know, I am a mushroom person. Yum yum.

Took a walk at HabourFront Centre on Monday evening after dinner with laogong's family. Now they have made me so keen to go for one day tour to Batam for shopping and/or for spa. Wonder if my parents allow me to go. It seems cheap and good and very attractive. I am looking to go maybe sometime in November.

Am on a diet now. Well, trying hard to resist all temptations. No snacking, no sugar drinks and no eating of oily, fatty or unhealthy food. Even my normal meals intake have to decrease. My aim is to be able to wear a beautiful dress for my birthday. Somehow I seem to be able to motivate myself to diet when I am feeling a little down. Gheez.

Feel like going ktv to unwind. Urgh! But my throat's not good. Probably the haze. Or maybe it's the piles of assignments and such. School's just a dread these days. It's going to be a boring class tomorrow again. 3 hours. HELP!!!

Happy Birthday TYX!

First of all, sorry for not updating. Due to the current state my computer is in, I've not switched on my computer for long hours and therefore have not updated. Plus, I don't really have the time to update the last few days.

Got so many mosquito bites on my legs. 8 of them. Itchy itchy scratchy scratchy. Why am I such a mosquito attracter? Grrr.

Anyway, happy birthday to TYX! (although it is one day late here in my post)

Sigh, feeling so troubled. Why am I such a problematic person? I am classified under Para 95 under MOE and now with my medical condition, my insurance is giving me problems. My parents are constantly breathing down my neck about this. Ahhh! Why why why. It's not that I asked for it. I hate going for my medical appointments. Who ever understands. Sigh.
