Geylang trip

Just home from Geylang. Went there for dinner with laogong. What were you thinking? Had zhu chao. Not too bad, but a little too oily for my liking. Forgot to take some photos of the food. We ended up there because we didn't know where else to go. Haha. Walked from Lorong 25A to Lorong 1. Went for some sight seeing. Interesting sight, but I will never go alone or without laogong. Maybe the last time we went was at around 3am and there was a lot more to see as compared to today. Shall ask laogong to drive through there again. Haha.

Oh ya, and I must say the soya bean and dough stick is lousy! The last time we tried it there, the soya bean was awfully dilute. Why's it so famous?

Birthday cum Christmas Chalet

Lots of back dating to do regarding the chalet, birthday cum christmas celebration, lasting from the 24th to 28th December 2006. It was generally fun and I enjoyed every moment of it, even though some friends left me rather disappointed. But first, I want to thank the following friends for making the effort to come. You made my day and you pals are the best! Gambled a bit, lamed a bit, bbq-ed a lot, despite the rain and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly (i hope). I came home totally drained and slept for hours.

From CTSS:

  • Lydia
  • Yaohua
  • Hamida twinniex and family

From SP Choir:

  • Shi Ming
  • Heng Yew
  • Rou Yi
  • Shi Zhen (and thanks for staying over)

  • Susanty (for coming to my house)
  • Jia Hui
  • Audrey
  • Benjamin (sorry for getting your white shirt black with charcoal, hehe)

Other friends:

  • Derrick and Elaine
  • Zheng Lun
  • Alan and Gf
  • Gilbert

Not forgetting Beng Siew who came down with her friend, Gary. It's so nice meeting you. I'm so happy to see you again, and seen that you've become more bubbly!

And of course, special thanks to Yan Ling Jie for coming out with the idea of the lovely cake, and getting laogong to buy it, and Yan Xin for adding lots of lameness to the chalet. Also, how can I forget my dearest laogong for being there everyday at the chalet even though you had to work. And paying over $70 for the cake. Here's the group photo taken.

From NIE:

  • Sultanah
  • Wesley
  • Chris and family

With my cousin, a teacher, and my dearest twinnie a teacher too, we had 6 young teachers at my chalet, not including 2 of my dad's friends yet. One a principal and another a HOD. So you can say we had 8 teachers there. Well, if you want to include my uncle, who is now an OM.

Presenting to you the 6 young teachers:
Top left to right: Joyce (my cousin), me, Chris (my bestest NIE pal)
Bottom left to right: Wesley (practicum mate), Hamida (my twinniex), Sultanah (my bestest shopping and gossip NIE pal)

Oh and thank you Joyce for staying over! We've never been this close before, until recently. If we do go Pulau Ubin, I'll definitely call you along.

To my dearest Sultanah, I can see that you hit it off well with my twinnie and my cousin. Felt so heartwarming. And thank you for helping me register my modules. Wouldn't know what to do without you. Here's the self taken pic of us, Sul. There still is another one. I'll send that to you when I see you online.

Well, I had 2 birthday cakes. My second cake was cut on the 25th december, at night, with my relatives. It's a sinfully chocolate fudge cake from Lana Cakes. Yum yum. Ordered by my dad.

Thank you everyone for the presents! Received many bags and make up kits and a remover kit too! Loved it all. Especially this adidas bag given by TYL and TYX.

How can I also leave out my act cute pictures taken with twinniex. Self taken too! You could say we were all so thick skinned. But, who cares? Haha.

And my most favourite picture of all. Just before laogong left for work on Christmas Day. He looks so yandao!

This is one photo intensive post. As Chris said, my most precious birthday present this year is actually my parents accepting laogong. My parents lent laogong the car (as we had 2 cars during the chalet) to work and I felt that this was a rather big step to show that they trust him. His family also came down on the 26th December and so you can say that both our parents have met. Another step further to seeing the future.

Hope that this year will be a good one despite my health. I'm doing all I can.

Mixed feelings

The day is drawing near! I've got mixed feelings though. On one hand I am so looking forward to it, but on the other, some friends who initially told me that they will come, have now messaged me saying that they can't make it. I understand that christmas is a time to spend with family and such, and so I can't really say much, except, it's ok, I understand.

Things to do these few days:

  • Paint my fingernails (Done with my toenails already)
  • Marinate the chicken wings
  • Pack the chalet stuff and my clothes!
  • Iron my new dresses
  • Wrap somemore presents

I guess I'll probably be alone in the chalet on the 26th and 27th december if no one's staying. And laogong's probably working. Sigh. Just came back from a chalet too. My twinniex's chalet. Went over to accompany her because no one stayed over too. Haha. So, twinniex, stay and accompany me!!

To my best friend, Lydia Seow Jia Hui!!

Just met up with my long time best friend Lydia today. We finally met up, after so many years of "loss contact" (can classify as that right, lydia?). Lydia's one of my best friend since sec 1 and we used to get along really well that I always went to her place. After secondary, we went to SP together and took the Japanese course together, in which we both gave up together too! Those were the days. Unfortunately, after that we hardly met up and she went to Perth for her studies and now she is back in Singapore, for a few months. Holiday and attachment.

Like what she keeps saying, though we hardly talk, we still know each other well, and we can openly talk about our problems. It is as if those few years of loss contact didn't even seem there at all. Feels good to be talking to her again. Anyway, we went to kbox today and sang for 5 hours straight, and I bet that if not for the time limitation, we could probably still be singing! Although ktv was a bad idea in the end because we hardly have time to talk to each other, I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

Finally, to Lydia, as I would quote Roxette, Listen to Your Heart. At least, you won't have regrets! And you know who to find, if you need a ear.

Cheers to our friendship! 8 years of it. Coming to 9. Wow!

Full House

Just finished another korean drama series. Full House aka 浪漫满屋. The show has a very similiar storyline to My Lovely Samsoon, but still, the happenings, events and settings are different. This show features Rain too. Well, I felt that he looked rather gay-ish (sorry to Rain fans out there, but this is just my opinion). They should have made him look more ruggard. I think his posters on his up-coming concert here looks better. A very light hearted show and easy to watch, and I watched finish this show within 2 days. 22 episodes only. What made me like about this show is the songs played. Really catchy. Looking for the mp3s now. Managed to find some, but unfortunately, one of it, I can only find the chinese version and it sounds horrible. I want the korean version!! Will looking to search for it, or maybe I shall go buy the sountrack, if there is.

I'm itching for shopping and ktv. Anyone?

Korean Dramas

I've been putting off updating my blog. Basically, I still don't have much mood. Been feeling like a zombie these few days. Side effects of my medication. Makes me keep feeling like vomitting and nausea and keep running to the toilet because of diarrhoea. One word to describe it all. Hell!

Oh well, finished watching another korean drama series, Yi Dao, a total of 64 episodes. It sure is a good show. The starting was rather heavy but in the middle and later stages of the show, it was very interesting and just keeps you wanting to know more. A story line similar to Da Chang Jin, with the exception that this show is more serious. Unfortunately, this show is not shown on any of the local tv channels, unless you subscribe to cable tv. It was shown a few months ago on channel 55, if I am not wrong. Have 2 more drama serials to watch. Full House and Save the Last Dance. Have not started yet because I do not know which show I want to watch first.

Also finished reading another romance novel by Laura Lee Guhrke, She's No Princess. Interesting storyline and some steamy moments. A very light hearted novel and easy to read within 3-4 hours. A rating of 4 out of 5 stars from me.

Lost...

Wasn't in any mood to update the past few days. Upset about my health condition. The blood tests results were not pleasant. Unfortunately, I do not want to tell anyone about it, other than a few really close friends. I can only hope for the best. Nevertheless, I won't give up fighting. I believe that one day, I will get well.

Preparations...

Preparations for my birthday chalet is underway. I would like to take this chance to thank all my friends who are going to come. No need presents and such, just your presence is enough to make my day. I'm so looking forward to it. Love you all.
